International Education Brings the World to You and Takes You Around the World!

International Education provides students with a rich understanding of the complex global community in which we live. International Education initiatives at KCC are comprised of several distinct units with well defined, yet interrelated, responsibilities. The Honda International Center (HIC) provides comprehensive services for international students and guests, as well as study abroad opportunities for KCC students and faculty. Kapi'olani's emphasis on Asia and the Pacific provides broad exposure to the cultures of Asia, the Pacific, and the world, through its annual International Festival and International Education Week, while promoting global learning through its Academic Subject Certificates in Asian Studies and Hawaiian/Pacific Island Studies. Also operating under the auspices of International Education are the faculty and staff of Second Language Development and Teaching, the faculty and students of the award-winning International Café, and the faculty and students dedicated to International Service-Learning. Together, we impact every facet of life on the KCC campus, striving to increase the global and multicultural awareness of our staff, faculty, students, and surrounding community.

International Education brings the world to you. The Honda International Center brings students from around the world into the classrooms of KCC, enhancing our international curriculum with a truly global learning environment. International Education Week, the International Festival, and the International Café will expose you to a rich variety of cross-cultural experiences right here on the KCC campus. Through the Asia Pacific Digital Library (APDL) Kapi'olani faculty have contributed to a database of materials available for educational use that center on content relative to Asia and the Pacific.

International Education takes you around the world. International Service-Learning will take you off campus and into the community to work with immigrant populations from around the world, allowing you to experience the rich cultural diversity of Honolulu while helping others adjust to their new surroundings. The Honda International Center can also help you go beyond our island home to experience the world through a variety of study abroad programs and international scholarship opportunities.
