Recertification of Nurse Aides is the official 24-hour course to evaluate Nurse Aides for Recertification as required by State of Hawai‘i regulations. The course is organized to evaluate competent performance of nurse aide skills. After successful completion of the course, Nurse Aides will be qualified to be recertified in the State of Hawai‘i. The 24-hour course will consist of classroom, and laboratory and clinical sessions at Leahi Hospital. Additional hours for supervised assistance will be available through the Kapi‘olani Community College Nursing Department Laboratory Resource Center at no additional cost. Prerequisites: CPR for health care providers and First Aid certificate; Tuberculosis (TB) clearance (2-step); Hep B immunization; Personal health insurance. A criminal background check and drug testing will be done by Leahi Hospital ($25).
