The Arts & Sciences Language and Culture program offers German, Italian, Japanese, and Vietnamese language and culture classes. Classes are available for every level of learner – from beginning to advanced, and are offered on weeknights and weekends. Level 1 classes are five weeks, while Level 2+ classes are 10 weeks. Participants receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion of each class. Textbooks are listed, but are not available through KCC and must be purchased from an outside source (e.g., Borders-591-8995, Barnes & Noble-737-3323/949-7307, or amazon.com). The cost of the textbook is not included in the course fee. Japanese Language Through Singing (New Class!)

This course will provide students with knowledge of Japanese language through singing and related participatory activities. Japanese grammar and structure are learned and vocabulary increased from study and singing of traditional and popular songs. Students will learn a natural way of speaking that cannot be learned from textbooks.

Instructor: Mineko White, a native Japanese speaker has a B.A. in Japanese as a second language.
