Intercultural Communication Strategies for Successful Relations with Japanese Foreigners (New Class!)

| Learn how to succeed in personal and business relationships with Japanese nationals living in Japan and Japanese who have lived in the U.S. for several years. This course will examine intercultural issues and introduce techniques to deal with these issues. The instructor will introduce personal experiences related to the subject, while guest speakers will provide their experiences and perspectives working with the Japanese. This class will be interactive and involve student participation. If you are in a personal or professional relationship with the Japanese, this class will be the most informative you will attend.

| Instructor: Lance Sato holds a degree in Communication from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. He studied Japanese culture at Ryukoku University in Kyoto and lectured at Kyushu Tokai University in Kumamoto for two years. Upon returning to Hawai’i, he worked as an English and Communication instructor for Hawai’i Tokai International College. He was promoted to the position of Director of International Programs for Hawai’i Tokai International College and held the position for eight years. As a business professional, he was the president and co-owner of Pacific Access Company Limited, an import-export company trading with Japanese businesses. |
