The Arts & Sciences Language and Culture program offers Japanese, Chinese, and Italian language and culture classes (Italian will start up again in Fall). Classes are available for every level of learner – from beginning to advanced, and are offered on weeknights and weekends. Level 1 classes are five weeks, while Level 2+ classes are 10 weeks. Participants receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion of each class. Textbooks are listed, but are not available through KCC and must be purchased from an outside source (e.g., Borders-591-8995, Barnes & Noble-737-3323/949-7307, or amazon.com). The cost of the textbook is not included in the course fee. Learn the foundations of Mandarin Chinese, which is spoken by one-fifth of the world’s population and is playing an increasingly vital role in business, education, and travel. Classes are taught in an interactive style with a conversational emphasis.
