Webpage Making

Introduction to Webpage Making: The Easy Way to Effective Web Sites for Moms, Dads, Writers, Educators, Administrators, and Business Owners Get a website up in minutes with free software on nearly any hosting service in the world. Create whole websites, not just a single webpage, with modern Content Management System (CMSs). Starting with the open source, free software package Wordpress, you can begin your website in minutes. You can pick the graphic look you want from hundreds of choices. You can start creating effective content that communicates with text, pictures, audio, or video in minutes. We will briefly cover Moodle for creating on-line universities and Joomla for an alternative and well supported Content Management System. You will come away with the ability to select your webhosting service, how to create your site, select it’s look and feel, how to put your content on the site, and how to extend your site to do calendars, shopping carts, multimedia, and more.

Instructor: Jim Hinds has a Masters in Computer Science from SUNY/Buffalo and over 40 years of experience in all forms of software development: systems, I/O drivers, computer architecture, languages and applications.
