Digital Imaging Workshop: Using Adobe Photoshop – Intermediate
This second Digital Imaging Workshop will build on the basic selecting, masking and compositing techniques learned in the introductory class. Basic compositing techniques will be reviewed but the emphasis will be on more advanced and refined techniques for making multi-image compositions through enhancement layers for image color and value control. Participants should bring a selection of your own photographs on a CD or thumb drive to use in your multi-image compositions.

Instructor: Kirsten Rae Simonsen's work has been exhibited in Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Seattle, New York, London, and Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She is represented by Whitespace Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. After studying art in Bali, Indonesia, she received her MFA from the University of Chicago. Her summers are spent co-leading an Art and Design Program in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She lectures at Kapi'olani Community College and the University of Hawai‘i-Manoa.

New Media Arts offers a coordinated series of non-credit and credit classes. Our Summer 2008 courses include classes in the well-known and comprehensive digital imaging software program Photoshop, as well courses in selecting and using a digital camera, travel photography, documenting life using photos, studio lighting, Webpage making, and digital imaging. All classes are held in the New Media Arts PCATT Lab in Kopiko 202.

Customized Training in New Media Arts

Kapi ‘olani Community College can develop non-credit courses and workshops specifically designed to meet the needs of your company or organization.
